Lawyer (General Advisory)
Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Professional Regulator in their search for a Lawyer (General Advisory) to join their Legal Team on a permanent basis. This is a newly created role, reflecting the team's broadened remit and offering an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer to provide high-quality, generalist legal advice across a wide range of organisational matters.
In this role, you will focus primarily on non-contentious legal work, providing pragmatic, solution-focused advice across corporate and commercial matters, procurement, and data protection/information law. You will support colleagues across the organisation on operational, policy and governance issues, helping to manage legal risk and enable confident, informed decision-making.
This is a true general advisory role, rather than investigations or casework focused. You will be expected to hit the ground running, bringing your expertise to support a collaborative and supportive legal team. While there is some contract work, the role is broader in scope, offering exposure to a wide range of advisory matters across a regulatory environment.
You will work closely with the Head of Legal and wider stakeholders, providing timely advice, supporting policy development, and contributing to a proactive legal culture. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to internal guidance, training and continuous improvement across the legal function.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister (3+ years PQE) with strong general advisory experience. You will have expertise in corporate/commercial law and data protection/information law, and ideally experience within a regulatory, public sector or membership-based organisation. You will be a confident communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively, with strong attention to detail and a pragmatic approach.
