We are seeking a passionate and dedicated SEN Lecturer to join a Further Education college in London.
You will deliver high-quality teaching and learning to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to achieve their full potential academically, socially, and personally. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive learning environment.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to students with SEND
- Plan, prepare, and assess lessons in line with curriculum requirements
- Develop and implement Individual Learning Plans (ILPs) and support strategies
- Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support
- Create a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with support staff, EHCP coordinators, and safeguarding teams
- Adapt teaching methods and resources to meet a wide range of learning needs
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality improvement initiatives
👤 About You
- Experience teaching students with SEND in an FE College or similar setting
- Strong understanding of inclusive teaching practices and differentiation
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Patient, empathetic, and committed to student success
Desirable:
- Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent)
- Experience working with EHCPs and additional learning support
- Subject specialism relevant to FE curriculum (e.g. Functional Skills, Vocational subjects)
