About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and vigilant Safeguarding Officer to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. You will play a key role in promoting a safe environment, responding to safeguarding concerns, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for safeguarding concerns and disclosures
  • Identify, assess, and respond to safeguarding risks in a timely manner
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and up-to-date safeguarding records
  • Work closely with internal teams and external agencies (e.g., social services, law enforcement)
  • Support the development and implementation of safeguarding policies and procedures
  • Deliver safeguarding training and awareness sessions to staff
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with safeguarding standards and regulations
  • Participate in case reviews, audits, and risk assessments

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Proven experience in a safeguarding, child protection, or welfare role
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practices
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and discretion
  • Strong organisational and record-keeping skills

Desirable Skills

  • Safeguarding certification or advanced training
  • Experience working in education, healthcare, or community settings
  • Knowledge of risk assessment frameworks and case management systems
  • Ability to deliver training and workshops
