A well-established Further Education College in London is seeking a skilled and passionate Carpentry Lecturer to join their Construction department. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Carpentry professional looking to transition into teaching, or an established Lecturer ready for their next role.
The Role:
You will be delivering high-quality teaching across Level 1, 2 and 3 Carpentry, combining both practical workshop-based training and classroom theory. The role involves supporting learners of varying abilities, helping them develop the technical skills and industry knowledge required for successful careers in construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and effective lessons across Carpentry programmes (L1-L3)
- Plan and prepare schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments
- Teach both practical skills in the workshop and underpinning theory in the classroom
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Maintain a safe and productive learning environment in line with health & safety standards
- Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement of the department
Requirements:
- Level 3 qualification in Carpentry or a related trade
- Strong on-site industry experience within Carpentry/Construction
- Experience teaching or training (FE teaching qualification desirable, not essential)
- Ability to deliver both practical and theoretical elements of the curriculum
- Passion for education and supporting learner development
