We are delighted to be supporting a well-regarded Further Education college in Northamptonshire in the recruitment of a passionate and dedicated Lecturer in Foundation Learning.

This is a rewarding opportunity to support learners with additional needs and barriers to education, helping them build confidence, life skills and progress into further study or employment.


✨ About the Role

As a Lecturer in Foundation Learning, you will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching to students with a range of learning needs, supporting their personal, social and academic development.

You will play a key role in creating a supportive and structured learning environment where students can thrive and achieve their full potential.


🎯 Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching across Foundation Learning programmes
  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs
  • Support the development of students' life skills, employability and independence
  • Monitor, assess and track student progress effectively
  • Provide pastoral support and promote positive behaviour
  • Work collaboratively with support staff and curriculum teams
  • Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement
  • Participate in student recruitment activities and college events
  • Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion across all activities

👤 About You

You will be a compassionate and adaptable educator with a genuine passion for supporting learners who may face additional challenges in education.

You'll be patient, resilient, and able to build strong relationships with students, helping them to grow in confidence and achieve their goals.

You'll also be a strong team player with excellent communication skills and a flexible approach.


✅ Essential Requirements

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with learners with additional needs or barriers to learning
  • Teaching qualification or willingness to work towards one
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to motivate, support and engage learners
  • Commitment to CPD and inclusive teaching practices

➕ Desirable

  • Experience working within Further Education
  • Relevant subject or teaching qualification at Level 3 or above
  • Experience supporting learners with SEND
