
Management Accountant
Management Accountant will be working for a national charity with people experiencing homelessness. It provides a safe and secure environment for people in 9 areas around England.
The role
Management Accountant will work closely with the Financial Controller to make sure month-end processes are completed accurately, on time and in line with financial procedures. Management Accountant main responsibilities include preparing monthly management accounts, supporting the annual budgeting process, and managing restricted funding income.
Management Accountant will also involve working alongside Finance Business Partners to analyse month-end income and expenditure, assisting with financial queries from budget holders, supporting the preparation of year-end accounts, acting as a key contact for external auditors, and checking restricted funds are planned and utilised in accordance with donor requirements.
What you will be doing
- Produce timely and accurate monthly management accounts.
- Support budget holders by investigating and explaining financial variances.
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Manage and reconcile restricted funds, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process, including analysis and reporting.
- Assist with the year-end audit and preparation of annual statutory accounts.

Skills and qualifications
- Previous experience in management accounting and financial control work
- ACCA/CIMA or equivalent, part-qualified or qualified by experience
- Must have public sector experience, desirable knowledge of charity SORP
- Extensive experience of having done year end including the financial accounting statements.
