Help shape investment decisions that deliver new homes.
We're working with one of Scotland's housing organisations to recruit a Finance Business Partner.
This isn't a traditional management accounting role. It's an opportunity to combine financial planning, project appraisal and business partnering while supporting a significant programme of new build and regeneration projects.
Working closely with Development and Finance teams, you'll provide the financial insight that helps shape investment decisions, monitor major capital projects and support long-term business planning.
If you're someone who enjoys understanding the story behind the numbers, influencing decisions and building strong relationships across the business, this could be an excellent next step.
The Role
You'll be responsible for providing financial support across a wide-ranging development programme, helping ensure projects remain financially viable from initial appraisal through to completion.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial appraisals for proposed development projects.
- Monitoring project costs, grant funding and financial performance.
- Producing monthly management accounts, forecasts and statutory accounts.
- Preparing meaningful financial commentary for senior leadership and Board reports.
- Supporting business planning and long-term financial forecasting.
- Working closely with operational teams, translating financial information into practical business insight.
- Managing and developing a Senior Finance Officer.
About You
We're looking for a qualified accountant who combines strong technical ability with excellent communication skills and a proactive approach.
You'll ideally have:
Essential
- CCAB (or equivalent) qualified accountant.
- Strong management accounting experience.
- Experience preparing management and statutory accounts.
- Financial appraisal, capital project accounting or business planning experience.
- The ability to communicate confidently with non-finance stakeholders.
- Experience preparing reports and commentary for senior leadership or Boards.
- Advanced Excel skills.
Desirable
- Housing, construction, wider public sector or charity experience.
- Financial modelling experience.
- Previous line management experience.
Success in this role is about more than technical accounting.
You'll be naturally curious, comfortable asking questions and confident gathering information from across the organisation. You'll enjoy solving problems, identifying opportunities for improvement and explaining financial information in a way that's meaningful to a range of stakeholders.
What's on Offer?
- Agile home-based working with flexibility around office attendance.
- 35-hour working week with flexible hours.
- A collaborative and supportive finance team.
- The opportunity to influence major investment decisions and capital projects.
- Excellent pension and benefits package.
- Genuine variety across financial reporting, business partnering and project finance.
