About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Science Lecturer to join a respected Further Education provider across the Cambridge and Bedford area. This temporary position offers the opportunity to inspire learners and deliver engaging science lessons across a range of programmes and levels.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching in one or more science disciplines, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, helping students achieve their academic and career aspirations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Science lessons to learners.
• Teach across a range of qualifications, including GCSE, Functional Skills (where applicable), and Level 2/3 programmes.
• Assess student work and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor learner progress and implement support strategies where required.
• Maintain accurate records in line with awarding body and college requirements.
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
• Support learner achievement, retention, and progression.

Requirements

• Degree in a Science-related subject (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or equivalent).
• Teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, DTLLS, or equivalent) desirable.
• Previous experience teaching Science within Further Education, Secondary Education, or Adult Learning settings.
• Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Passion for education and learner development.
