
Associate Lecturer in GCSE English (Bank)
We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Associate Lecturer in GCSE English to join our teaching team in Chichester. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced educator who is passionate about helping learners achieve success in GCSE English Language and Literature.

Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging GCSE English Language and English Literature lessons that meet curriculum and awarding body requirements.
- Assess students' progress through formative and summative assessments, providing timely, constructive feedback to support achievement.
- Prepare lesson plans, teaching materials, and learning resources that accommodate a range of learning abilities and needs.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and academic performance, implementing appropriate interventions where necessary.
- Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive learning environment that promotes student confidence, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Maintain accurate student records, assessment documentation, and reports in line with institutional policies and quality standards.
- Participate in curriculum development, standardisation meetings, and quality assurance activities to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to provide academic guidance, pastoral support, and effective learner progression.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in English, English Literature, Linguistics, Education, or a closely related subject.
- Recognised teaching qualification, such as a PGCE, Certificate in Education (CertEd), or Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training (DET) (or willingness to work towards one, where applicable).
- GCSE English Language and Mathematics at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- A strong understanding of the GCSE English curriculum, assessment objectives, and examination board specifications (e.g., AQA, Edexcel, OCR, or WJEC).
- Up-to-date knowledge of teaching, learning, and assessment strategies for secondary or further education learners.
- Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in English teaching, curriculum development, or educational practice.
- A recognised safeguarding and Prevent training certificate (or willingness to complete mandatory training upon appointment).
- Membership of, or commitment to professional standards recognised by the Education and Training Foundation (ETF) or other relevant professional bodies is desirable.
