Hours: Up to 37 hours per week. Part-time and term-time only arrangements will be considered for the right candidate. Occasional evening and weekend working may be required during peak examination periods.

The Opportunity
A leading Further Education College in Northamptonshire is seeking a highly organised and customer-focused Exams Administrator to join its busy examinations team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in delivering a high-quality service to students, staff and awarding organisations.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate administration of examination entries, registrations, results and certifications, while supporting compliance with awarding body regulations and internal procedures. Working as part of a dedicated Exams team, they will help ensure that students receive an efficient and professional service throughout the examination cycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Process examination registrations, entries, claims and certification requests accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain and update student records and examination data on the Management Information System (MIS).
- Respond professionally to examination-related enquiries from students and staff.
- Support the administration of both online and paper-based examinations.
- Assist with examination planning, scheduling and invigilator coordination.
- Process examination results and maintain accurate records.
- Ensure examination files and evidence are complete and compliant with awarding body requirements.
- Support students receiving examination access arrangements and concessions.
- Maintain confidentiality and compliance with data protection requirements.
- Promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of the role.
About You
The successful candidate is likely to have:
Essential
- GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent).
- Previous experience in an administrative role.
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach to work.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- An understanding of confidentiality and data protection requirements.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and vulnerable adults.
Desirable
- Experience working within a Further Education or Higher Education environment.
- A qualification in Business Administration, Customer Service or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of examination administration processes and awarding body regulations.
- Experience using student record systems or Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
