An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly organised Exams Manager to join a leading College in Northamptonshire.
The Exams Team plays a crucial role in the student journey, ensuring that examinations are planned, delivered, and administered effectively, accurately, and in full compliance with awarding body regulations. This is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing all examination processes, maintaining the highest standards of security and compliance, and ensuring students are supported to achieve their best possible outcomes.
The Role
As Exams Manager, you will lead the administration and delivery of all examinations across the College, working closely with curriculum areas, awarding organisations, students, and senior leaders.
You will be responsible for ensuring that all examination arrangements are managed efficiently and accurately, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements and providing an excellent service across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinating all communications with Awarding Organisations.
- Managing and overseeing arrangements for all examinations and assessments.
- Maintaining accurate records of student achievements and examination outcomes.
- Ensuring examination procedures comply with awarding body regulations and internal policies.
- Managing examination security, confidentiality, and compliance requirements.
- Overseeing the examinations budget in collaboration with the Executive Director of Customer Service.
- Leading and supporting the Exams team to deliver a high-quality service.
- Working collaboratively with curriculum and support teams to ensure a positive student experience.

Essential Requirements
- Minimum Grade C (or equivalent) in GCSE Maths and English Language.
- Experience working within an examinations environment.
- Experience liaising with Awarding Organisations.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Outstanding organisational and administrative skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive and professional approach to problem-solving.
Desirable
- Previous experience managing examination processes within an education setting.
- Experience leading or supervising a team.
- Knowledge of examination regulations, compliance requirements, and best practice.
