Hostel Support Worker

Morgan Hunt is currently recruiting for a Hostel Support Worker to provide 5 weeks of cover within a homelessness hostel in South West London.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is proactive, confident and approachable, with an interest in supporting people experiencing homelessness and working within a busy hostel environment.

🌟 About the Role

You'll play an important role in the day-to-day running of the hostel, helping to maintain a safe, welcoming and well-organised environment for residents.
The role will involve regular interaction with residents, supporting with access to their rooms and ensuring the appropriate checks and records are completed.

🔑 Key Responsibilities

• 🏠 Support with the day-to-day running of the hostel.
• 👋 Engage positively and professionally with residents.
• 🚪 Escort clients to rooms and assist with room access where required.
• 🪪 Verify client identities and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
• 📝 Complete and update handover notes and relevant records accurately.
• 💻 Use IT systems confidently to maintain records and communicate important information.
• 👀 Maintain awareness of activity within the hostel and report any concerns appropriately.
• 🤝 Work closely with colleagues to ensure effective communication and a consistent service.
• 🚨 Respond appropriately to issues or incidents within the hostel and escalate where necessary.
• 🌱 Take a proactive approach to supporting residents and maintaining a positive environment.

We're looking for someone who is:
✅ Proactive and confident in a busy environment
✅ Comfortable engaging with people from a range of backgrounds
✅ Able to communicate clearly and professionally
✅ Confident using IT systems and updating handover notes
✅ Reliable and able to work as part of a team
✅ Comfortable following procedures around identity verification and room access
✅ Ideally experienced within homelessness, supported housing, hostel or social care environments
