Business Rates Valuation Technical Specialist

Are you a Business Rates or Valuation Technical Specialist looking for a permanent role in the UK?

Morgan Hunt's client, a leading outsource provider dedicated to delivering exceptional services to public sector organisations, is looking to recruit a Business Rates or Valuation Technical Specialist on a permanent basis, forming part of their virtual Business Rates shared service centre.

The role will include a combination of valuations, recovery, and housekeeping work; ensuring that the rating list is accurate whilst reviewing and administering high value business rates accounts, handling complex financial queries and supporting our customers to find solutions to difficult issues. You will be expected to manage challenging situations to conclusion, taking full ownership of the outcome and embracing first contact resolution as a standard approach

This permanent opportunity offers full-time home working and a salary ranging from £28,694 to 31,432 per annum.

Key Responsibilities:

• Undertake all aspects of valuation work, including schedules, billing authority reports, and reconciliations.
• Manage debt chasing and oversee recovery processes.
• Support a network of staff responsible for answering technical queries from ratepayers, agents, and solicitors.
• Update and administer Business Rates accounts across various systems (IWorld/Northgate (NEC), Academy (Capita) or Civica OPENRevenues).
• Take ownership of challenging situations and embrace first contact resolution as a standard approach.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated understanding of business rates legislation and practice.
• Experience in valuation duties.
• Familiarity with IWorld/Northgate (NEC), Academy (Capita) or Civica OPENRevenues is desirable.

Education Requirements:

• Educated to GCSE level or equivalent with a minimum of 5 grades A-C including English and Maths.

Experience Requirements:

• Evidence of delivering first-class service to a diverse range of customers.
• Experience in gathering, organising, and managing information.
• Ability to manage complex financial queries and provide effective solutions.
