Senior Civil Engineer

Morgan Hunt are working with a consultancy in Inverness to recruit a Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing team. They are looking for someone to work on a diverse portfolio of energy and renewable infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong civil engineer to play a key role in the delivery of critical infrastructure, including electrical substations, power transmission and distribution networks, and renewable energy developments. You will be responsible for the design, coordination and delivery of a wide range of projects, while ensuring these projects meet the required technical standards.


Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and deliver civil engineering design packages for energy infrastructure projects, including substations, grid connections and renewable energy developments
• Develop and review civil engineering designs, calculations, specifications and technical documentation
• Oversee the design of site infrastructure, including earthworks, drainage, access roads etc
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and contribute to the development of the wider engineering team
• Liaise with clients, contractors, consultants and other stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle
• Review design deliverables to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations, project specifications and health and safety requirements
• Support project planning, resource management, technical reviews and the resolution of engineering challenges
• Contribute to design risk assessments, value engineering and the identification of practical, cost-effective solutions
• Support projects from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, construction and delivery

Experience Required:

• A degree in Civil Engineering or similar
• Comfortable dealing with clients and contractors, and being their point of contact
• Significant experience in civil engineering design and project delivery
• Experience working on projects within the energy, utilities, power or renewables sectors
• A sound understanding of civil engineering principles, design standards and relevant regulations
• Experience with civil infrastructure elements such as earthworks, drainage, foundations, access roads and site development
