Our Student Services team cover a broad range of cross-college initiatives. All aspects of the student journey, from pre-entry to post-exit, are impacted by the Teams’ work. From initial contact and marketing/information, advice and guidance delivery, they support all students to maximise their potential.
The Careers team provide IAG to student’s through drop in or 1-2-1 appointments, as well as through sessions requested by tutors on their courses. The team provide progression advice regarding next steps which could include College Course Progression, Higher Education, Apprenticeships and Employment. As Careers Adviser, you will provide effective impartial information, advice and guidance regarding future study and career choices.
We’re looking for someone who has achieved a Level 6 Careers Guidance qualification, however, we are also willing to consider applications from those who would like to train as qualified Careers Advisers and who already hold a Level 4 IAG qualification with experience of delivering 1-2-1 IAG and group work sessions.
With excellent communication and interpersonal skills, you will be able to provide a professional service whilst understanding the needs for discretion and confidentiality. Here at Carshalton College, we are seeking a Centre School Administrator.
Reporting to the Head of College Administration & Exams, you will create, review, and update all school timetables within EBS, ensuring that all timetabling is accurate as per timetabling guidelines. As first point of contact for students, parents/carers, staff and members of the public both face to face and on the phone, you will liaise with the School Management Team to ensure course, room and staff timetables are up to date and accurate and ensure visiting tutors claims are processed timely. You will also liaise with MIS regarding withdrawals, transfers, late starters, early completers and cancelled enrolments, and support events such as those linked to enrolment, progression, and admissions as well as parents’ evening and open days within the College.
This role would suit an individual who has experience of providing strong and effective administrative support within a fast-paced environment and who can work effectively under pressure, adhering to strict deadlines. With a high level of computer literacy, you will be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, and be able to build relationships across teams to deliver tasks effectively. The role of an Instructor/Mentor is to teach the Rolls Royce apprentices the practical skills needed, visit them onsite at the Ihub based in Derby and complete workplace reviews. You must also mentor apprentices to succeed and review their performance with them.
The successful candidate will need to hold a relevant teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one. We can offer support to those looking to start their careers in teaching, together with a Mechanical Engineering vocational qualification at Level 3 and Level 4 or higher. We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and self-motivated work based assessor to join our team. Flexibility, team work and attention to detail are attributes required to work within this expanding area of curriculum at Coleg Gwent.
Working as part of a College-wide team you will have a wide range of duties to support work based learners and the assessment processes, both within the college and at work placements.
Candidates must hold an NVQ Level 3 qualification or above in Fabrication/Welding and be experienced in undertaking work placed assessments.

The Wandsworth campus of South Thames College are seeking a Sessional Lecturer – someone to deliver varied and effective sessions in Level 1 and Level 2 Teaching Assistant courses.
As Sessional Lecturer, you will work closely with the course leader to prepare course plans in accordance with the qualification specifications and develop course objectives using effective course and lesson plans designed to monitor learners’ progress. You will prepare schemes of works and assessment plans in accordance with any external or college set syllabuses and deliver the agreed learning outcomes by the end of the course. You will prepare lesson plans showing content, activities and timing and mark and assess learners’ written assignments and portfolios in a timely manner, providing feedback both orally and on the e-portfolio platform.

The School of Engineering at the Crosskeys Campus is looking for an enthusiastic individual to join their team in delivering engineering courses from Level 1 up to HNC/HND Level.
The post would suit engineers from a range of backgrounds, but the individual must have experience of Computer Aided Design. Experience of delivering at HE level would be an advantage.
As a Lecturer in Engineering, you will be required to deliver on a number of programmes ensuring that learners receive a high quality learning experience. Duties will include the delivery and assessment of all practical and theoretical units on various courses up to HND Level. You will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of student progress. Applicants must hold a minimum qualification of HNC/D. Holding and Assessor or Internal Verification qualification would be an advantage.
You will be expected to teach a maximum of 24 hours per week out of a 37 hour a week contract and this may include evenings.

As part of the Business Support Team, the post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting the Executive Assistant and Office Manager with the smooth running of the school.
Initially, the postholder will significantly focus on supporting with administrative tasks such as liaising with examination boards, supporting with recruitment and HR functions, stakeholder/ engagement events, social media updates and event planning for a variety of projects, as we prepare to open the school to children in Spring 2024.

Applications are invited for a Technologist in Residence for the Ecological Citizens Project. This is a part time (7 hours per week) and fixed term until January 2027, role based in Battersea with occasion travel to project partner locations (York and Wrexham) may be required.
Working as a key member of the Ecological Citizen(s) Network+ (EC) team, the Technologist in Residence will be based with the Royal College of Art core team. This role will be a great opportunity for a Designer to use their skills and expertise to help the Ecological Citizen(s) Network+ deliver one of its core objectives: catalysing research, activities and means of enabling ecological citizenship for positive climate action in a sustainable, digital society.
The technologist in residence post will support the delivery and creative development of the technological aspects of the RCA’s Ecological Citizens project (EC). This includes working within the 3 distinct strands of the EC project: 1. The research and ‘micro-projects’ carried out by the EC team (that sits across the three core partner institutions), 2. The expansion and growth of the Ecological Citizens Network + and 3. The external projects / pieces of work that are funded via the EC’s funding call for proposals (3 rounds of funding across 3 years).
The role will require a candidate who is self-motivated and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively with a large variety of transdisciplinary groups, institutions, and industries. The work will rely on good communication and team working skills. The successful candidate will work alongside the principal researcher, co-investigators, the national team, partners, and other roles within the project. The project is design-led but an active interest in; the natural world, materials, and the digital economy would be beneficial, but not essential.

The College seeks to appoint a Development Surveyor to join our Estates and Facilities Department based at the Usk Campus. The work will be varied and involves assisting the Associate Director (Estate Development) in providing an effective, efficient and comprehensive building and estate development support function in connection with the upkeep and future development of the Coleg Gwent estate. Further Education is an exciting to place to be for building professionals as our estate includes everything from Science Laboratories, to motor vehicle workshops and Hair & Beauty Salons.
The department has responsibilities for all estate related services including capital developments, all maintenance of the estate and health and safety for the College across its campuses.
Applicants must have attained a degree in a building related subject and be a full professional chartered member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (CIAT) or another equal professional body. The Torfaen Learning Zone is the new centre for A-level study in Torfaen. It provides a centre of excellence for over 23 A-level subjects as well as a wide range of vocational, professional and degree programmes. It is located in a prime location adjacent to the Morrison’s store in the centre of Cwmbran with excellent links to public transport and facilities in the town centre. It will serve all pupils in the borough and will become the pathway for Torfaen students into higher education, training and employment.

Working as part of a team you will provide a wide range of duties to support delivery and assessment to a wide range of practical learning activities. You will be expected to support the stock control of consumables using ICT, including communication with suppliers and to monitor Health and Safety of workshop practices.
A qualification of NVQ level 3 or higher in Brickwork would be required.

Working as part of a team you will provide a wide range of duties to support delivery and assessment to a wide range of practical learning activities. You will be expected to support the stock control of consumables using ICT, including communication with suppliers and to monitor Health and Safety of workshop practices.
A qualification of NVQ level 3 or higher in Carpentry would be required.

We have an immediate requirement for an experienced Mechanical Engineering Technician to support the teaching and learning at the City of Newport Campus.
You will be qualified to NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or proven relevant workshop experience.
Team work, enthusiasm and a flexible approach are attributes required within this area.
You will support both staff and students in all aspects of the practical curriculum, including stock control and ordering. You will also be required to complete regular Health & Safety audits of the equipment and environment within this area.

Fixed Term Contract from March 2024 (Maternity Cover)
The Foundation and Intermediate School at Kingston College has oversight and responsibility for the cross-college English and Maths and Employability provision. The focus is on ensuring that current and future students receive a first-class experience that enables them to progress and attain their qualifications at high levels and to develop long-lasting learning and employability skills. Success is measured in terms of student outcomes including value added, meaningful progression in education and training and destination into higher education and/or employment.
Joining us as Head of Section, you will be responsible for the staff and curriculum standards in the cross-college mandatory Maths delivery area. You will teach A Level Maths and ensure you are offering a transparent, responsive, and high-quality service to the College.
You will have responsibility for the enrolment, conduct and progress of all students on all programmes within this area, in line with College policies, and ensure that the success rates and value added performance improves towards outstanding. You will ensure that the section delivery meets the needs, standards and requirements of all partners, including the College, regulatory and examination bodies, and oversee the performance management of the section, in order to deliver outstanding teaching and learning with high standards of student guidance and support.
As our Head of Section, we’d like you to be educated to degree level or hold a relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, and have excellent teaching skills in A Level Maths, recognised as a good or better teacher. You will have experience of leading / managing a Maths provision; GCSE Maths and/or Maths Functional Skills and have a track record of making sustained improvements. You will have experience of managing, supporting and developing staff and of successfully monitoring and supporting ‘at risk’ learners to achieve or exceed their potential.
With high personal standards and expectations, you will have a strong vision for the improvement and development of the curriculum area and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving. You will have current knowledge of impending curriculum changes and the implications for teaching and learning strategies and have a thorough understanding of quality assurance and improvement processes, and how these can be used to enhance the student experience.

The Learning Resources Centre (LRC) at the South Thames Colleges Group is looking for a Digital Learning Resources Advisor – someone to support students and staff with the use of LRC services, online library and digital learning resources.
Based at Kingston College, the Digital Learning Resources Advisor will provide frontline support in the College Learning Centre and they will create online guides and content for the Group’s Student Portal. They will select and embed digital resources, including e-books, in the Group’s virtual learning environment. There are two staffed Learning Centres at Kingston College – a recently built, modern Learning Centre and the Learning Centre at the College’s Creative Industries Centre.
We’d like our Digital Learning Resources Advisor to hold a Level 3 qualification and have experience of working in a customer focused environment, delivering a good or better level of customer service. You’ll have excellent knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word as well as good knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams. Able to work effectively without supervision, you’ll be a strong team player with excellent written and verbal communication skills, including an ability to adopt an approachable manner when dealing with customers.
The ability to design and create good quality online content, including text, images and video, is desirable, as is experience of supporting users with technical support.
