Full time, 37 hours per week

Our client

Morgan Hunt is working with a local homelessness charity who aim to get people on low incomes into the private sector. They are looking to recruit a Housing Officer, initially for a temporary position with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. The working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday across an office / property patch in Rochdale, with a view of starting as soon as possible.

The role

As a Housing Officer you will manage between 40 and 50 properties across the Rochdale area and be responsible for;

• Completing initial viewings, sign-ups and move in
• Arrears management and rent collection
• Liaising with private landlords to ensure a positive relationship is maintained
• Liaising with external contractors and working alongside internal support teams
• Carrying out regular property inspections and arranging for repairs to be completed
• Providing housing related support to promote tenancy sustainment

The candidate

• Experience within a housing management role or within a related setting
• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a property portfolio independently
• The ability to work with and build relationships with vulnerable people, landlords etc
• Knowledge and understanding of the private rented sector
• Competent with IT / housing management systems.
