Our client
Morgan Hunt is working with a local homelessness charity who aim to get people on low incomes into the private sector. They are looking to recruit a Housing Officer, initially for a temporary position with the possibility of extension for the right candidate. The working hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday across an office / property patch in Rochdale, with a view of starting as soon as possible.
The role
As a Housing Officer you will manage between 40 and 50 properties across the Rochdale area and be responsible for;
- Completing initial viewings, sign-ups and move in
- Arrears management and rent collection
- Liaising with private landlords to ensure a positive relationship is maintained
- Liaising with external contractors and working alongside internal support teams
- Carrying out regular property inspections and arranging for repairs to be completed
- Providing housing related support to promote tenancy sustainment
The candidate
- Experience within a housing management role or within a related setting
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage a property portfolio independently
- The ability to work with and build relationships with vulnerable people, landlords etc
- Knowledge and understanding of the private rented sector
- Competent with IT / housing management systems.
