The Role:
They are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dyslexia Coordinator & EAA (Exams Access Arrangements) Assessor to lead and coordinate the support for students with dyslexia and related Specific Learning Differences (SpLDs).
Key Responsibilities:
· Conduct screening and diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and related SpLDs; maintain assessment documentation in line with regulatory / JCQ guidelines.
· Coordinate the Exams Access Arrangements (EAA) process: referrals, assessments, arranging reasonable adjustments for exams, liaising with Exams Office, Curriculum teams, and other stakeholders.
· Develop, implement, and review personalised support plans for learners with dyslexia, monitoring progress, identifying barriers to learning and setting targeted actions.
· Promote best practice by advising teaching staff on strategies and assistive technologies to support students with dyslexia in the classroom.
· Manage a caseload of students, maintaining accurate records, and reporting on outcomes.
· Provide training / workshops for staff & students to raise awareness of dyslexia, inclusive learning, and neurodiversity.
· Keep up to date with current legislation, best practice, diagnostic tools and assistive technologies.
Education, Skills and Requirements:
· Degree (or equivalent) qualification.
· Relevant qualification or certification for assessing Access Arrangements (e.g. Level 7 Assessing for Access or equivalent), along with a current Assessment Practising Certificate.
· Proven experience of working with students with dyslexia / SpLDs, ideally in a post‑16 or FE setting.
· Experience in carrying out EAAs / working with exam boards / within JCQ regulations.
· Experience in developing support plans and monitoring progress, managing a caseload.
