
Housing Options Officer
I'm recruiting for a Housing Options Officer to join a housing service operating within the public sector and government.
This role is based in London and plays a key part in delivering legally compliant homelessness prevention and housing solutions within the public sector and government.
The successful Housing Options Officer will manage a varied caseload, carrying out homelessness assessments, prevention and relief work, and securing appropriate housing outcomes. You will ensure decisions are robust, customer-focused, and aligned with legislation, contributing to service performance across the public sector and government.
Key Duties:
- Assess and determine homelessness applications in line with legislation and statutory guidance
- Deliver prevention and relief duties across a range of housing options
- Make well-reasoned, defensible decisions and produce high-quality written outcomes
- Arrange and manage temporary accommodation placements where required
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to achieve sustainable solutions
- Maintain accurate case records and contribute to performance reporting and improvement activity
Candidate Profile:
- Experience in homelessness, housing options, or housing advice
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation and case law
- Experience managing complex and sensitive cases
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Able to prioritise workloads and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
