Investigations Lawyer
Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Healthcare Regulatory Body in their search for a permanent Investigations Lawyer to join their Legal Team and provide specialist advice and support to an investigations function handling complex regulatory concerns.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer to play a key role in ensuring investigations are timely, proportionate and fair, while supporting high standards of professional practice and public protection.
In this role, you will sit within the Legal Team, acting as a key adviser to the Investigations Team and providing accountability and oversight to ensure matters are progressed efficiently. You will support case investigation strategy, advise on evidence and drafting, and help steer investigations towards the most appropriate outcome at the earliest opportunity. The role requires a pragmatic approach - supporting timely case progression by prioritising effectively, identifying where legal input is needed, and ensuring the investigation process is not delayed unnecessarily.
Alongside advisory responsibilities, you will also take ownership of a small caseload of complex investigations. You will advise on investigation plans, evidence matrices and allegations, as well as evidential issues as they arise. You will also conduct some advocacy (around 20% of the workload), representing the regulator at interim orders and short Fitness to Practise hearings as required.
The successful candidate will be a qualified solicitor or barrister (minimum 3 years PQE) with strong experience advising on investigations, ideally within the regulatory or membership sector. You will have excellent judgement, strong organisational skills and the ability to work at pace, supporting colleagues with timely, high-quality advice. You will be confident working collaboratively in a matrix environment and able to escalate risks appropriately where needed.
