Accounts Manager

Accounts Manager required for this world-leading university and research organisation, initially for a 6 month fixed term contract with potential for a permanent opportunity. Our client is known for it's high standards, collectively working in a team and focus on learning and discovery. They are looking for a reliable and organised Accounts Manager to join their finance team.

The role

As an account manager your role will be to support the day-to-day financial management of a large research focused department. Working with the Finance Manager, you will helping to monitor budgets, manage accounts and maintain accurate financial records. You will also support research grant activities, resolve queries, and explain financial information to colleagues. This 6 month fixed term contract will involve contributing to reporting processes and supervising a small team.

What will you be doing

- Account Manager will keep financial records accurate and up to date, including checking and reviewing accounts.

- Help staff understand and manage their budgets, highlighting any issues early on.

- Support research grants, including costing projects and tracking spending.

- Supervise a small team and assist with month-end and year-end tasks.

- Deputise for the Finance Manager - this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety and working part of a team.

Required skills and qualifications

- Bachelor's degree, AAT Level 4, or equivalent qualification

- Experience working in a busy accounts or finance environment

- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and Office tools

- Good communication skills and ability to meet deadlines
