Temporary - 2 months with the potential for extension

Full time - 37.5 hours per week - early and late shifts (alternate weeks)

£13.91 per hour + holiday pay




Our client


Morgan Hunt are working with a national youth homeless prevention chairty to recruit a Progression Coach for their 12 bed supported housing service in Manchester. The service supports young people aged 16 - 25 to transition from hostel accommodation into independent living.

This is a temporary role for approximately two months, with the possibility of extension. The position is 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, working on a rotating shift pattern of early shifts (7:30am - 3:00pm) and late shifts (2:30pm - 10:00pm). You will work one week of early shifts followed by one week of late shifts.




The role - Progression Coach

  • Manage a caseload of up to 6 clients, delivering regular keywork sessions and creating SMART outcome-focused support plans.
  • Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments.
  • Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all residents, following safeguarding and emergency procedures where required.
  • Deliver 1:1 and group support sessions within the accommodation and the local community to build resilience and independence.
  • Work collaboratively with partner agencies and statutory services.
  • Provide flexible, personalised and strengths-based support.
  • Support residents to access education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.
  • Maintain a safe and well-managed environment through health and safety checks and reporting.
  • Prepare rooms for new residents moving in and support them to settle into the service.




The candidate

  • Experience working with young people or individuals who have experienced homelessness.
  • Understanding of issues such as homelessness, poor mental health and substance misuse.
  • Knowledge of risk assessment and support planning.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding procedures.
  • A strong commitment to health and safety.
  • Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.
