
Information Governance Lead
Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Professional Regulatory Body in their search for an Information Governance Lead to join their Corporate Services team on a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in supporting organisational compliance, governance and risk management within a small, collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
In this varied role, you will support the organisation to meet its statutory and non-statutory responsibilities across information governance, data protection and risk management. You will coordinate core governance processes, including managing FOI requests, Subject Access Requests and corporate complaints, ensuring responses are handled efficiently, accurately and within required timeframes.
You will also play a central role in maintaining and monitoring risk registers, supporting risk reporting and contributing to wider assurance processes. Alongside this, you will support records management and document retention practices, maintain governance records for audit purposes, and contribute to the review and development of corporate policies.
This is a hands-on, operational role with broad exposure across governance, offering the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across the organisation. You will also support areas such as cyber security and business continuity, ensuring key processes and controls are in place and functioning effectively.
The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented and proactive professional with experience in information governance, data protection or compliance within a structured or regulated environment. You will be confident managing multiple workstreams, handling sensitive information and building effective relationships across the organisation.
Job Title: Information Governance Lead
Location: Hybrid (20-40% in London Office)
Salary: £39,000 per annum
Contract Type: Permanent
Hours: Full-time (35 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
· Manage and coordinate FOI requests, Subject Access Requests and corporate complaints.
· Ensure timely, accurate and compliant handling of information governance requests.
· Maintain and update organisational risk registers and support risk reporting processes.
· Support the organisation's information governance and data protection framework.
· Oversee records management and document retention practices.
· Maintain accurate governance records and reporting for audit and assurance purposes.
· Support the review and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures.
· Contribute to cyber security and business continuity arrangements.
· Build strong working relationships across the organisation to support compliance and governance.
Candidate Profile
· Experience within information governance, data protection, records management or compliance.
· Ideally experience within a regulatory, membership, healthcare or public sector environment.
· Strong understanding of FOI, SARs and information governance processes.
· Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
· Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple workstreams.
· Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across the organisation.
· Proficient in Microsoft 365 (including SharePoint) and case/document management systems.
· Analytical, methodical and proactive approach to work.
