📍 Location: Derby (S41 7TH)
💰 Pay Rate: £20-£21 per hour (Umbrella)
📅 Contract: Temporary (with potential extension)
🕓 Working Pattern: 4 days per week

Overview
We are currently recruiting for a Substance Misuse Recovery Worker to join a well-established service in Derby. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong multi-agency experience, particularly within probation, criminal justice, or homelessness services.
You will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex needs, helping them progress through their recovery journey while working collaboratively with partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of service users with substance misuse needs
- Deliver structured key working sessions, recovery plans, and risk assessments
- Work closely with probation services and criminal justice agencies
- Support individuals transitioning from prison or probation into the community
- Make referrals to external services, including:
- Mental health services
- Housing / homelessness support
- Domestic violence services
- Facilitate or support group interventions and workshops
- Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records (System 1 desirable)
Requirements
- Experience within substance misuse or a related field
- Background in at least one of the following:
- Probation / Criminal Justice
- Homelessness services
- Mental health
- Ability to manage complex caseloads and high-risk clients
- Strong communication and engagement skills
