We are currently recruiting for an experienced and proactive Inclusive Learning Advisor to support EHCP and High Needs learners within a busy and supportive Further Education setting.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an individual with strong knowledge of SEND provision, the legal EHCP process, and post-16 inclusive education. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring students receive high-quality, person-centred support that enables them to achieve positive educational and adulthood outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and provide direct support for a caseload of EHCP and High Needs students
- Complete pre-entry assessments, EHCP consultations, and regular learner reviews
- Develop and implement Inclusive Support Plans and Inclusive Passports
- Liaise with Local Authorities regarding consultations and provision requirements
- Support seamless transition planning into post-16 education, including Exam Access Arrangements and impartial IAG
- Chair interim and annual EHCP reviews and produce high-quality post-review documentation within statutory deadlines
- Monitor learner progress, outcomes, and support interventions to ensure progression towards adulthood
- Work collaboratively with curriculum staff, support teams, parents/carers, and external agencies
- Support students with assistive technology and deliver targeted 1:1 interventions
- Maintain accurate records using systems such as Pro-Solutions and Pro-Monitor
- Contribute to EHCP/SEND team meetings and wider college events including open evenings and school liaison events
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working within Further Education, SEND, or Inclusive Learning environments
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of the legal EHCP process within post-16 education
- Understanding of High Needs funding and SEND statutory responsibilities
- Experience chairing EHCP reviews and working with Local Authorities and external agencies
- Ability to write detailed reports, support plans, and review documentation
- Excellent organisational, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Confident supporting learners with a range of additional needs including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Experience supporting inclusive practice and promoting learner independence
Desirable:
- Relevant qualification in SEND, education, support work, or health & social care
- Knowledge of assistive technology and exam access arrangements
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
