Our client

Morgan Hunt is working with a charity that provides support to young people and families facing challenges related to housing, substance misuse and mental health. They provide a range of support including one to one counselling and group work to whole family interventions and advocacy with all services being trauma - informed, compassionate and confidential.


We are recruiting a Homeless Prevention Coach to cover Oldham and Rochdale (Greater Manchester) on a permanent basis. As a Homeless Prevention Coach, you will play a vital part in supporting young people at risk of experiencing homelessness across the borough. You will help to prevent homelessness and support people to create self - determined outcomes that will lead to sustained positive change through the creation of support plans, innovative interventions and a coaching style approach.


The role

  • Support an allocated caseload of young people through individually tailored support plans focusing on outcomes in accordance with contractual KPI's.
  • Work holistically to deliver wrap around support to young people within the community and their own tenancies.
  • Complete assessment of referrals for the service understand eligibility for the service.
  • Maintain accurate, up to date records on a case management system against support plans and outcomes.
  • Liaise with local specialist services to facilitate access to support including locally based offers, Criminal Justice services, health services, employment and training agencies.
  • Build relationships with landlords, housing agencies and local housing teams to support young people to stabilise / access long term accommodation.
  • Ensure that individuals understand financial management in preparation for independent living, including focus on rent payment and budget creation.


The candidate

  • An understanding of or a commitment to working in a strength-based trauma-informed way.
  • Ability and commitment to working with vulnerable young people and young adults with complex needs.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing a caseload within a relatable field e.g. homelessness, benefits advice, youth work or housing.
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures and responding accordingly.
  • Self - motivated with the ability to prioritise and work independently in a busy environment as well as contributing effectively as part of a wider team dynamic.
  • The ability to work effectively with partner agencies and develop contacts and networks across a wide range of local services.
