Construction Lecturer - Further Education

This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Construction Lecturers, Assessors, Trainers, or industry professionals looking to move into teaching and make a positive impact within the FE sector. You will deliver engaging and practical lessons to learners studying a range of construction trades, helping them develop the skills, knowledge and confidence needed for successful careers in the industry.

The Role

As a Construction Lecturer, your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering high-quality teaching across construction programmes.
• Planning and preparing engaging practical and theory-based lessons.
• Assessing learner work and providing timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitoring learner progress and implementing strategies to improve achievement.
• Promoting safe working practices and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Creating a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the construction curriculum.
• Maintaining accurate learner records and meeting awarding body requirements.
• Preparing learners for employment and progression within the construction industry.

About You

To be considered for this role, you will have:

• A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed, DET, DTLLS, QTS or QTLS (or willingness to work towards one).
• Relevant industry qualifications and occupational experience within one or more of the following areas:
  • Plumbing & Heating
  • Bricklaying
  • Plastering
  • Joinery
  • Multi-Skills Construction
  • Electrical Installation
• Experience teaching, assessing, or training within Further Education, apprenticeships, or workplace learning environments.
• Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
• A genuine passion for education and helping learners achieve their full potential.
• Knowledge of current industry standards, regulations, and health & safety requirements.
