This is a rewarding opportunity to play a key role in supporting learner success by monitoring attendance, identifying barriers to engagement, and implementing effective strategies to improve student participation and retention.
The Opportunity
As an Attendance Coordinator, you'll work closely with curriculum teams, student support services, and pastoral staff to ensure learners receive the support they need to attend regularly and succeed in their studies.
You'll be responsible for monitoring attendance data, coordinating interventions, and building positive relationships with learners to encourage engagement and promote a culture of high attendance across the college.
What You'll Be Doing
- Monitoring and analysing student attendance data across college provision
- Identifying trends and patterns of absence and implementing appropriate interventions
- Following up on learner absences and attendance concerns
- Working closely with curriculum staff, tutors, and student services teams
- Supporting learners to overcome barriers affecting attendance and engagement
- Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate records and producing attendance reports
- Coordinating attendance improvement plans and learner support strategies
- Promoting learner retention, achievement, and positive outcomes
- Contributing to a supportive, inclusive, and student-focused environment
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in attendance, student services, learner support, administration, education, or a related field
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Experience working with data, reporting, and record-keeping systems
- A proactive and solution-focused approach
- Ability to engage and motivate learners from diverse backgrounds
- Experience within Further Education, schools, colleges, or educational settings is desirable
