This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional to play a key role in driving financial improvement and organisational change within a well-established, values-led organisation.
As Head of Financial Projects, you'll lead a range of finance transformation initiatives, helping to strengthen financial reporting, improve systems and processes, and provide meaningful insight that supports strategic decision-making. Working closely with senior leadership and stakeholders across the organisation, you'll help ensure that financial information is accurate, accessible, and used effectively to support future growth and long-term planning.
Job Duties / Responsibilities:
- Motivate the Team: Inspire and lead the Corporate Services Team to adapt to change and deliver exceptional results.
- Oversee Management Accounts: Manage and improve the monthly accounts process, offering valuable insights into income and expenditure.
- Enhance Financial Systems: Evaluate and refine financial systems to ensure accurate, meaningful data, streamline processes, and support audits.
- Support Business Planning: Contribute to the development of financial systems that facilitate long-term business planning.
- Assist with Year-End Accounts: Play a key role in preparing year-end accounts, working closely with auditors and budget holders.
Experience Requirements:
- A qualified accountant with significant post-qualification experience, preferably within the charity sector.
- Demonstrated expertise in managing and optimising financial systems and processes.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to inspire and drive change.
- A proactive and positive mindset with enthusiasm for organisational transformation.
- A shared passion for ensuring all animals receive care and protection.
Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
- Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is an advantage.
