
Finance Assistant AP
Finance Assistant AP will join the Finance team within a College. This is a great opportunity for someone with previous Accounts Payable or finance administration experience who is looking to join a busy and supportive team.
The Role
Finance Assistant will play an important role in supporting the College's Accounts Payable function, ensuring invoices and payments are processed accurately, efficiently and in line with financial procedures.
What You Will Be Doing
- Processing invoices accurately and ensuring they are correctly coded and authorised.
- Checking invoices, expenditure and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Assisting with fortnightly payment runs and preparing payment listings for approval.
- Responding to supplier and payment queries and acting as a key point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
- Assisting with creditor reports and following up outstanding or unpaid invoices.
- Supporting GPC queries and transactions.
- Maintaining accurate financial records in line with audit and compliance requirements.
- Supporting the Finance team with day-to-day financial transactions and administration.
- Assisting with annual accounts and audit preparation, including participating in audit activities.
- Providing guidance and support to non-finance staff using the finance system and processes.
- Working closely with the wider Finance team and providing additional support during busy periods.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in Accounts Payable, finance administration or a similar finance role.
- An understanding of accounting systems and financial processes.
- Good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience dealing with suppliers, colleagues and other stakeholders.
- An understanding of financial controls, procedures and audit requirements.
