Morgan Hunt are currently working with a Further Education College in their search for an interim Contracts Paralegal/Lawyer to lead on contracts and commercial law, while providing additional legal support.
You will be responsible for providing legal advice and guidance to colleagues across the College in relation to contract and commercial agreements, as well as reviewing, drafting and amending a range of contracts and policies (including collaboration contracts and other commercial agreements).
You will also be responsible for supporting with complaints and appeals, as well as minute occasional governor committee meetings.
The successful applicant will be an experienced Legal Professional (either Paralegal or Qualified Lawyer), with significant experience within contracts and commercial law (including providing advice and reviewing, drafting, and amending a range of contracts). You will ideally have experience within the Education Sector.
This role will require someone to work onsite for the first 6 weeks, before moving to a hybrid working arrangement.

Job Purpose and Main Responsibilities
MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

In common with all other staff:
3.1 To facilitate full access to the curriculum for DPH/VI/MSI students through direct and indirect support, according to individual need.
3.2 Use appropriate DPH/VI/MSI strategies, tools and aids to enable and develop knowledge and learning to take place. Providing a range of BSL/SSE/Voiceover/Lip speaking, Manuel or Electronic notetaking, Language Modification, Scribe, Braille, Assistive Technology and Guiding.
3.3 To prepare or modify materials/resources specific to the student\'s individual sensory needs and to advise and train tutors in the process. Liaise with tutors to ensure the provision of modified materials prior to the lesson.
3.4 To support and promote student\'s independence through access to the curriculum, Assistive Technology, mobility and life skills.
3.5 To facilitate successful student transition into the college environment, supporting integration and interaction between student, staff and peers.
3.6 To promote the Sensory provision and to participate in the delivery of DPH/VI/MSI awareness training, through individual guidance or staff training sessions.
3.7 Provide communication/mobility support on external trips/events, work experience, college open events, parent evenings, Student Awards and enrichment activities.
3.8 Act as an advocate on behalf of the student, with their consent, as and when appropriate.
3.9 Attend and contribute to student reviews, EHCP Annual Reviews, assessment meetings and team meetings.
3.10 Undertake administrative duties, ensuring all student records are accurate and up to date.
Skills and experience :
Minimum Level 3 certificate in British Sign language qualification (Working towards Level 3 would be considered)
Recent experience of working with people with sensory loss\' in an education setting.
Good standard of education especially in English and Maths (GCSE Grade C or above equivalent) and IT.
Awareness of additional learning needs associated with a hearing impairment and visual impairment, and the social and emotional difficulties that can occur.
Right to Work & Enhanced Adult/Child DBS dated within the last 3 months or on the update service
