
Project Manager
Our client, a high profile government regulator requires an experienced Project Manager to steer the effective delivery of high profile environmentally focused project - a collaborative project that brings together environmental groups, regulators, local authorities, the water sector and consumer representatives around a shared vision for improved transparency. Project partners are working together to develop a roadmap that will give customers and stakeholders clear, easy-to-access and understand information about the environmental improvements being delivered through recent private & public sector investment, a 2025-30 expenditure programme. The project manager will oversee delivery of 3 workstreams (each having one regulator and one non-regulator co-lead):
1. Customer and stakeholder insight/engagement
2. Outcomes delivered and development of roadmap
3. Embedding learning for future environmental programmes, data and IT
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex stakeholder relationships, overseeing project planning and execution, and ensuring that outcomes are delivered on time, within scope, and to a high standard. They will also need to ensure strong links with other related work programmes. The individual needs to steer this whole project on behalf of all the key internal/ external stakeholders. In the wake of a government led Independent Commission key findings, there is a drive to ensure that the massive investment over 2025 to 20230 will deliver a real difference/ environmental improvement. The ideal candidate may have had similar Project Manager with an environmental focus and experience but key that they can run such a complex, collaborative project across multiple key stakeholders. There are a multitude of ongoing projects already being undertaken (ie 12 alone that may be useful for Workstream 1) so the Project Manager should be able to map these complex projects, identify synergies, pull these together, identify live projects that me by of use for this project - rather than doing everything from fresh.
Key Deliverables:
1. Development of project plan covering all 3 workstreams - this should incorporate interdependencies from other relevant Govt/regulator-led programmes and projects
2. Review all stages of project and ensure appropriate processes and documentation are in place to ensure effective delivery of project outcomes
3. Delivery of critical project milestones and regular updates to senior leadership
4. Communication/engagement updates in line with project plan
5. Oversee project governance including Working Group meetings; regulator-only meetings; Director-level Decision Making Group
6. Costed options and timeline for delivery plan
