Morgan Hunt is currently working with an international charity at the forefront of evidence-based health research, in their search for a Head of Research (Interpretation) on a permanent basis. They are a committed to reducing preventable illnesses through cutting-edge research. Their key programme analyses the latest evidence on prevention and survival, focusing on diet, nutrition, physical activity, and body weight. Collaborating with charities in the US, Netherlands and Hong Kong, their work informs policies and practices worldwide.
As Head of Research, you will spearhead the delivery of one their key programmes, overseeing its strategic direction and operational aspects. Liaising with internal stakeholders and external collaborators to ensure the program\'s success.
The ideal candidate will be educated to PhD level in a relevant field, such as public health. Have experience managing projects to completion and supporting staff\'s professional development. You will be an effective communicator and be able to build strong relationships with stakeholders.

Skills & Experience:
* A degree level qualification that utilises data science in the field of Urban Studies, Computation Design, Geography, Transport, or similar.
* Experience in the manipulation and analysis of data with a focus on spatial data, using geospatial software, such as ArcGIS, QGIS or similar.
* Experience in programming using a common language such as Python, SQL, R, or a willingness to learn.
* An understanding of the importance of best practises in data management, ideally with some knowledge of using a database
* Experience of setting up dashboards using software such as Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik, or via a programming language.
* Knowledge of existing web-based mapping platforms such as Mapbox, Kepler, Leaflet, Carto would be beneficial
* Knowledge of existing data sources and spatial analysis methods that could be used to better understand the built environment, and a desire to expand this knowledge.
* The ability to coherently present findings to a wide range of professionals, clients, and consultants.
